                                                             " كلب الموت

-         يتناول الصحفي الامريكي ويليام بي رايان الغداء مع صديق يُدعى إنسترثر عِندَما سَمِعَ إنَّ إنسترثر على وشك زيارة اختهُ في فولبردج ب كورنوال ، في منزلها الذي يُدعى " ترين " .كانَ قَد سَمَعَ رايان عن المكان ، ويروي قصة من الحرب العالمية الاولى عِندَما يَسمع بمحاولة ألمانية للاستيلاء على دير اثناء إستباحة بلجيكا .

-         تَفَجَّر الدير حالما دخلهُ الجنود ، وقَتَلهم هذا كلهم . كانَ من المؤكد انهُ لَم تُلقى على الجنود متفجرات قوية ، وقد أُخبرَ رايان بعد التحدث مع السكان المحليين عن واحدة من الراهبات ذات قوى إعجازية : لقد انزلتْ صاعقة برق من السماء دمّرت الدير وقتلت كل الالمان . جِداران هُما كُل ما تَبَقّى من المبنى ، يوجد على واحد منهما علامة من البودرة على شكل كلب عملاق .

-         اَخافَ هذا القرويين المحليبن مِما جَعَلهم يتجنبون المنطقة بعد حلول الظلام.

-         نَجَت الراهبة المذكورة و ذَهبت مع بقية اللاجئين الى " ترين " في كورنوال ، ويُؤكد إنسترثر ان اختهُ اعتنت بِبَعض البلجيكيين في ذلك الوقت . في كورنوال ، اِكتَشَف إنسترثر من اختهُ أَنَّ الراهبة ماري انجيليك ما تزال في المنطقة . كانت مصابة بهلاوس مستمرة وتقوم طبيبة جديدة شابة محلية اسمها روز بِدراسة حالتها ، وهي عازمة على كِتابة إفرودة ( عمل كتابي في موضوع واحد فقط ) حولَ حالتها . يلتقي إنسترثر مع روز و يقنعها بالسماح له بِمقابلة الراهبة الشابة . تُقَدم ممرضة المنطقة المحلية المأوى والطعام للراهبة . وتتحدث الراهبة عن احلامها ، لكن عندما يُخبِرها إنسترثر بالقصة التي سَمِعَها من رايان ، تُصدَم ، لانها تدرك انَّ ما كانت تعتقدَهُ حُلماً تبينَ انه حقيقة وهواطلاق " كلب الموت " على الالمان عندما اقتربوا من الهيكل .

-         وهي تهذي حولَ " مدينة الدوائر " و " ناس من البلّور " ، وعندما غادروها ، اخبَرَت روز إنسترثر انها سَمِعتها تذكر البلورات من قَبِل ، وانها قامت في مرة سابِقة بإِخراج بلورة وأَرتها إياها لِتختبر رد فِعلها . وقد لَهَثَت " اذاً الايمان ما زالَ حياً " .

-         تُخبِر الراهبة الشابة إنسترثر في اليوم التالي إنها تشعر انَّ البلورة هي رمز الايمان ، ورُبما هي مسيحٌ ثانٍ ، وأنَّ الايمان قد صَمَدَ لقرون عديدة .

-         تُحاول روز القيام بإختبار ترابط الكلمات الذي تُشير فيهِ ماري انجيليك الى إشارات – الاشارة السادسة هي الدمار. يبدأ إنسترثر الشعور بالقلق لاهتمام روز بحالة الراهبة، ويشتبه بوجود شيء اكثر من الدوافع الطبية البَحِتة . بعدَ بعض الوقت ، يستلم إنسترثر رسالة من الراهبة تُعبّر فيها عن مخاوفها من روز وتقول فيها انَّ الطبيبة تحاول الحصول على قِواها من خلال التقدم الى الحالة السادسة . يسمع في اليوم التالي من اختهُ عن موت روز والراهبة . إذ جَرَفَ انهيار ارضي الكوخ الذي يعيشون فيهِ على جانب التل، وانَّ الحِطام الذي استقَرَ على الشاطئ اخَذَ شكل كلب عملاق. سَمَعَ ايضاً عن وفاة عم روز الغني في نفس الليلة ايضاً ، إذ ضَرَبتهُ صاعقة برق ، على الرغم من عدم وجود عواصف في المنطقة ، وايضاً علامة الحرق على جَسَدهُ غريبة الشكل .

يَتَذَكر التعليقات التي وَرَدتهُ من ماري انجيليك ، ويتساءل إنسترثر فيما إذا كانت روز قد حَصَلت على القوى القديمة للبلورة ، لكنها فشلت في السيطرة عليها بشكلٍ صحيح ، مما ادى الى وفاتها . يَتَأكد من مخاوفهُ عندما يحصل على مذكرات روز التي تشرح بالتفصيل محاولاتها لتُصبِح خارقة وتمتلك " قوة الموت " بين يديها.

                          “ DOG OF DEATH “

-         American journalist William B.Ryan has lunch with a friend named Ensturthur when he heard that Ensturthur was about visit his sister In Fullbridge , Cornwall , In her house that is called “ Trane “ . Ryan had heard of the place , It tells a story from world war one when he hears a German attempt to take over a monastery during the colonization of Belgium .

-         The monastery exploded as soon as the soldiers entered it , and killed all of them. It was certain that no powerful explosives were found on the soldiers , after talking to locals , Ryan was told about one of the nuns with miraculous powers : A lightning bolt descended from the sky , destroying the monastery and killing all the Germans . Two walls are all that remains of the building , on each of them there is a powdery mark in the form of giant dog .

-         This frightened the local villagers , causing them to avoid the area after dark.

-         The nun survived and went with the rest of the refugees to “ Trine “ In Cornwall , Ansturthur asserts that his sister took care of some Belgians at that time . In Cornwall , Ansturthur discovers from his sister that sister Mary Angelique was still in the area . She was suffering from persistent hallucinations and a new young local doctor named Rose is studying her case, she is intent on writing monographs of written “ work on only one topic “ about her condition .

-         Ansturthur meets Rose and persuades her to allow him to meet the young nun . The local district nurse provides shelter and food for the nun . The nun talks about her dreams , but when Ansturthur tells her the story he heard from Ryan , she is shocked . Because , she realize that what she believed in a dream turned out to be true , which is the release of the dog of death at the Germans when they approached the temple . And she babbling about “ The City of Circles “ and “ People In The Crystal “  , when they left , she told Rose Ansturthur that she had heard her mention Crystals before . And that on the previous time she took out a Crystal and showed it to test her reaction. She gasped then “ Faith Is Still Alive “ .

-         The young nun tells Ansturthur the next day that she feels the Crystal is a symbol of faith , perhaps it is a second Christ , and that the faith has endured for many centuries .

-         Rose is trying to test the words of the words that Mary Angelic referred to the sixth signals are destruction .

-         Ansturthur begins to feel anxious because Rose cares about the nun’s condition , It is suspected that there is nothing more than purely medical motives . After some time , Ansturthur receives a letter from the nun expressing her concerns about Rose , In it she says that the doctor is trying to get her powers by advancing to the sixth sign. The next day , he hears from his sister about the death of Rose and the nun. The hut in which they live was washed away by a landslide on the side of the hill , and the debris that settled on the beach took the form of a giant dog . He also heard about the death of Rose’s rich uncle on the same night as well  , as he was struck by lightning , although there were no storms in the area , and also the burn mark on his body is strange in shape .

-         He remembers the comments I got from Mary Angelic  , and Ansturthur wonders if Rose attained the ancient powers of the Crystal , but she failed to control her properly , which resulted in her death . He is affected by his fears when he gets to Rose’s dairy that details her attempts to become a superhero and have the power of death in her hands .
