قصة الفتى العصبي:كان هناك صبي عصبي جداً، كثيراً ما يفقد صوابه ويتهور ويتصرف تصرفات يندم عليها لاحقاً، فأحضر له والده حقيبة مملوءة بالمسامير، وقال له: أريدك يا بني كلما اجتاحتك موجة غضب وتوشك على أن تفقد أعصابك، أن تدق مسماراً في سياج حديقتنا الخشبي. وبالفعل بدأ الولد في تنفيذ ما طلبه منه والده ففي اليوم الأول دق 37 مسمارً، رغم أن إدخال المسمار في السياج الخشبي لم يكن بالأمر الهين. لذا فقد قرر بعدها أن يحاول التحكم في أعصابه عند الغضب، وبعد مرور عدة أيام ، قل عدد المسامير التي كان يدقها. وخلال أسابيع نجح في ضبط نفسه والتحكم بها والتوقف عن الغضب وبالتالي توقف عن دق المسامير. وعندما حضر والده أخبره بما حدث معه ، ففرح الأب بهذا التغيير الإيجابي، وقال له: لكن الآن يا بني عليك أن تستخرج في كل يوم يمر عليك دون أن تغضب أحد هذه المسامير. بدأ الفتى مرة أخرى في خلع المسامير في اليوم الذي يمر دون ان يغضب به ، وهكذا حتى انتهى من جميع المسامير التي دقها في السياج من قبل.(نصيحة والدهُ)جاء إلى والده وأخبره
بما أنجزه ، فأخذه والده إلى السياج وقال: "يا بني ، لقد أحسنت صنعًا ، لكن انظر إلى هذه الثقوب في السياج ، هذا السياج لن يكون كما كان مرة أخرى". ثم أضاف عندما تقول أشياء في حالة من الغضب ، فإنها تترك علامات مثل هذه الثقوب في قلوب الآخرين ، يمكنك طعن شخص وسحب السكين ولكن لا يهم كم مرة تقول أنا آسف لأن الجرح سيبقى.
